What is a tax deductible donation?
When you give a tax-deductible donation to a registered charity like Greenpeace, you're not only supporting a cause you believe in—you may also reduce your taxable income.
Your donation helps us campaign for a cleaner, greener planet—and as a bonus, you could end up paying less tax. It's a win for the environment and a potential win for you at tax time.

How do tax deductible donations work?
To be tax-deductible, your donation needs to be given purely as a gift—without receiving any goods, services, or benefits in return—so things like event tickets or charity merchandise don't count. To claim a tax deduction, your donation needs to be $2 or more and given to an organisation endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). Greenpeace holds this status, which means your gifts to us are fully tax deductible.
Even better—your tax refund comes from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), so your generosity goes 100% toward supporting our campaigns.

Recent Victories

STOP BIG GAS
We kept the pressure on the Federal government to deny Woodside Energy’s Burrup Hub project, while also building strong public opposition to gas across Australia.

GAS ACCOUNTABILITY
We challenged the gas industry’s social license and political power, making it harder for corporations and politicians to justify new gas projects in Australia.

END DEFORESTATION
We held Australia’s biggest beef buyers accountable on their implementation of deforestation-free commitments, while also keeping up political pressure for strong nature law reforms.

PROTECT THE OCEAN
We pushed for Australia to ratify the Global Oceans Treaty and establish marine sanctuaries, while also amplifying the case for a strong Global Plastics Treaty to end ocean pollution.

CLIMATE JUSTICE
We centred Pasifika voices leading up to and during COP30, calling for Australia to step up on fossil fuel phase-out, make polluters pay, and set the stage for a Pacific-hosted COP31 in 2026

DEEP SEA MINING
We supported and amplified Pasifika advocacy urging Pacific governments to set a moratorium on Deep Sea Mining to protect Pasifika culture, lives, and livelihoods.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
